Lie
is obstructing justice
After Michael Cohen was pleaded guilty in November for making false statements
to Congress about the Trump Tower in Moscow, things have not been easy for the
President of United States, Donald Trump, who has not wasted any time to call
his old attorney a liar who just wanted to get his sentence reduced. Making this
kind of accusations would be taken as something very serious, but for the president
of United States, after having to face so many resignations from the White
House functionaries during his government, trying to discredit by calling him a
liar is not something new.
The democrats have made known to everyone
that they are not going to forget that the display of evidence showing that the
President directed Michael
Cohen lying to the Congress about a prospective business deal in Moscow by
tryng to accelerate the investigations.
Mueller’s office found out that Donal Trump directed
Cohen through interviews with multiple witnesses
from the Trump Organization, internal company emails, text messages and other
documents.
Unsurprisingly, Donald Trump, after understanding
that his position as President of United States, he has been trying to cowedly intimidate
a witness, Kevin Corke through
a post in Twitter “Kevin Corke, @FoxNews “Don’t forget, Michael Cohen has already been convicted of perjury and fraud, and as recently as this week, the Wall Street Journal has suggested that he may have stolen tens of thousands of dollars....” Lying to reduce his jail time! Watch father-in-law!”
A proper investigation about the issue has been insured
by many important polititians of United States, such as the chair of the House Intelligence
Committee, Adam Schiff, by posting on his twitter “The
allegation that the President of the United States may have suborned perjury
before our committee in an effort to curtail the investigation and cover up his
business dealings with Russia is among the most serious to date. We will do
what’s necessary to find out if it’s true.”
The opinion of Rep.
Jerry Nadler has also been heard in Twitter “We
know that the President has engaged in a long pattern of obstruction. Directing
a subordinate to lie to Congress is a federal crime. The @HouseJudiciary Committee’s job is to get to the bottom
of it, and we will do that work.”
Joaquin Castro has also made himself
clear by insuring that if Donald Trump coached someone to lie to the Congress,
he must resign or at least be impeached. He has posted that on his Twitter, and
he has reiterated his opinión in an interview at the MSNBC News.
Even though many people have claimed
that justice will be done, at the end of the day, he will probably get away with
it by getting rid of every single piece of evidence and witnesses that may show
the truth. He will do so just because he is the president of United States and
that he will make sure that no one gets him out of the White House, even if in the words William P. Barr, convincing a witness to change their
testimony is obstruction of justice.
